DESCRIPTION:JANUARY LUNCHEON PROGRAM\n\n                                        Wednesday\, January 24\, 2018                                  \n\n                                                At The Garden City Hotel\n\n \n\n                     KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: Brian Daughney\n\n                        Mayor of the Incorporated Village of Garden City\n\n                      \n\n                                    \n\n\n\n                Brian Daughney was elected Mayor of Garden City on March of 2017.  He has served as Trustee on behalf of the Estates POA since May 2010.  Mayor Daughney has been involved in the Village since he moved into Garden City approximately 16 years ago.  He was an active member of the Property Owner's Association of Garden City Estates\, serving not only as a director of the Estates POA but also its President.\n\n                As a Village Trustee\, Mayor Daughney served on the Village Finance Committee\, Traffic Commission and the Insurance Review sub-committee.  He was also the Trustee liaison to the Cultural and Recreation Commission\, the Architectural Design Review Board and the Board of Appeals and Planning Commission.   Most recently\, he helped lead the efforts to renovate the Senior Center\, the playing fields at Community Park and the pool facility. He has also advocated for changing and updating the Village's financial and accounting systems and personnel\, and controlling municipal employee costs.\n\n                Brian is a corporate and securities attorney and is a partner in the New York office of Becker-Poliakoff\, LLP\, a Florida-based firm with approximately 130 lawyers.  Brian's professional experience includes providing a variety of corporate clients with his services specializing in business transactions\, capital markets financing and broker/dealer regulation.  He has 25 years of corporate and securities law experience representing entrepreneurs\, startup\, small cap and middle market companies through the various stages of their development.  He lives in the Estates section of the Village with his wife Jacqueline Goode and their two young children.
